CommNet provides you with several rental options: Conventional and Trunking Hand Held Radios, Heavy Duty and Light Duty Headsets and your choice of 5 or 40 watt repeater system. 	Conventional Radio: is a UHF portable two-way radio that is rugged, meets high military standards, light weight, has a full one watt speaker, comes with a Lithium-Ion battery and is very dependable. This radio has 4 watts of power that can easily penetrate through steel and concrete. Our conventional Radios can be used to talk radio to radio or they can be used with a repeater that gives you a wider area of coverage. Don't be fooled by radios you can purchase at the mall or other retail stores when they claim to talk for “10 miles”. That is wrong. The furthest distance you could probably get from a 1 watt radio (most radios sold in retail stores are one watt or less) is less than or just over a 1/4 of a mile. A 4 Watt radio (all hand held radios are, no matter who the manufacturer is, 4 or 5 Watts) will give the user a max of about 2 miles of coverage depending if you are in a building, in or out of the city. Trunking Radio: is a portable two-way radio that is very rugged and also meets high military standards. This radio is mainly used to work with a “Trunking” System. Renting this radio will give you access to our Private Radio System that is made of several towers through out the Metroplex. To use these effectively, your event must be in close proximity to one of our towers, especially if you have an indoor event. You can also have access to a Trunking System that we install in your building or wherever you request coverage. This option is not listed below, but if you are interested just ask us about it in the comments section of the request form. 5 or 40 Watt Repeaters: A repeater is a “signal Booster” that relays a radio signal to hard to reach areas like underground garages, multiple floors, multiple buildings etc.. Our repeaters come in 5 Watt or 40 Watt packages. The package include the repeater, Coaxial Cable, and antenna. The repeater can be temporarily installed into any building. Renting the repeater will give the user great coverage around their event. Heavy Duty Headset: is a great radio accessory used for very high noise environments. This accessory offers high clarity sound and additional hearing protection necessary for consistent, clear communication in high noise environments. Features include :Certified noise reduction of 24dB, Flexible, noise-canceling, boom microphone with windscreen, Comfortable cloth-covered ear seals. Light Duty Headset: These headsets allow for high-clarity, discrete two-way radio communications while providing the additional comfort necessary for extended wear. Perfect for use by hotel, restaurant and other hospitality staff, retail sales personnel, and many others working in active, moderate-noise environments. The headset comes with: Flexible, electret boom mic with windscreen, Comfortable, adjustable foam cushion headband, Fully rotating boom microphone for left or right side positioning, foam ear cushion, in-line PTT. Speaker Microphone: is a speaker and microphone with PTT, that is remoted by a cable, connected to your radio (many police officers use speaker microphones). It is usually worn on the shoulder. The speaker and microphone are located in the Head that also has a PTT button and clip. Like headsets, the Speaker Microphone option is great for limiting handling of the radio itself giving the user the ability to be more hands free. The speaker mic is great for moderate-noise environments.

		*If total value of rental agreement is less than $100.00, add $25.00 per Rental agreement for set up, programming and documentation. A 25% (of proposed total rental) deposit is required.
