CommNet Communications - North Texas #1 Radio Communications Provider - 2 Way Radio Sales, Service, Installation, Design
other radio in the fleet. Another great advantage to using Fleet Dispatch is that the management and other people in charge can monitor conversations during the work day. With cell phones or Nextels, this is almost impossible, because most conversations are one-to-one. In fact, the inability to monitor a company’s communications traffic is one of the primary complaints CommNet receives from customers who are switching from cell phones or Nextels to our VHF Clear Call System. An additional advantage to a company using Fleet Dispatch is that everyone who has a radio at the office, in a vehicle, or even a hand held radio, can monitor the conversation(s) that are taking place. This sometimes can be helpful in different ways. For example, if Trucker A is Calling Trucker B and is asking a question that trucker B does not know, another Trucker in that fleet may know the answer and could easily call Trucker A with the correct answer. In essence no matter where or how many vehicles there are in a fleet, everyone will still be connected. Another great candidate for Fleet Dispatch are Security Companies who’s priority is safety for their employees and customers. Security officers are in constant danger due to the nature of the job, securing buildings, communities, events and other public events. Security companies must have communications that are reliable, clear, instantaneous and affordable. CommNet’s VHF Clear Call falls right in sync with their needs. At the push of a button, a security officer can call the base or his fellow officers for help that is needed immediately. With a cell phone or Nextel, the officer must fumble around and scroll to call another officer. In some cases, there is no signal, or “user not available” pops up on the screen of the phone. In that time the officer may have put himself in a very dangerous situation. When seconds count, Clear Call is the way to go. Having a reliable communications system is vital to a security company’s future. In order for businesses to be successful today they must have the ability to communicate with their employees and customers. The communication must be reliable, clear and affordable. Many businesses in Dallas and Ft. Worth use cell phones or Nextel phones/”walky-talkies” (“Nextels”) to communicate with their employees. For some companies, the use of cell phones or Nextels works all right, but for many others it has become a burden, both on communications and on the bottom line. Many companies discover there are many problems that can arise from using cell phones or Nextels for a business:

• High monthly costs.
• Overages.
• Inability to control personal phone calls or time wasting calls between employees.
• Complicated and confusing monthly billing.
• Confusing Contracts.
• Surcharges and “other” taxes totaling 17+% on top of airtime bill.
• Battery problems.
• Lost & damaged cell phones that are expensive to replace.
• Poor customer service.
• Inability to send or monitor calls for entire fleet or group.
• Dropped calls.
• Poor coverage.
• Busy system/user not available messages.

These are just some of the complications that can occur when a business chooses to use cell phones or Nextel for their primary form of communications. The average cost of a cell phone or Nextel is about $100.00 per unit per month (not including extra minutes). To this amount you need to add over 17% in miscellaneous taxes and fees. This expense can wreak havoc on a business’s bottom line. However, almost every month one or more metroplex companies are switching from

CommNet’s VHF Clear Call System is a superior two-way radio system that works in the opposite way cell phones or Nextels work. Cell phones or Nextels rely on hundreds of

short towers that emit very low power to connect to their users. These multiple towers are then connected to a very expensive piece of equipment called the “switch”. The cost to build out these networks demands that the carriers charge a high price for their use. CommNet’s VHF Clear Call System is built on a few high towers that emit a lot of power to their users. The height and power allow CommNet’s VHF Clear Call System to cover large areas of the Metroplex, giving the users excellent coverage at comparatively low cost. CommNet currently has a vast variety of different customers who utilize the VHF Clear Call System in different ways.

The most common way is:

• Fleet Dispatch: Usually made up of one or more Base Stations set up at an office or main building. A radio, power supply, desk mike and antenna are installed at that location. Customers usually “dispatch” from here. They can call any one of their employees that is equipped with a radio, whether that be a hand held radio, or a mobile radio that is mounted in a vehicle. Businesses will usually have one or more bases and multiple hand held or mobile radios. Fleets may be 2 or 3 radios, or up to 200 or more radios. Some of these companies are Security, Towing, Landscaping, Construction, Air-Conditioning, Plumbing, Pest Control, Courier, Cement Delivery, Schools, Churches and many others. The Fleet Dispatch feature allows a company to reach all, a selected few, or only one, users instantaneously at the push of a button from the dispatch center
