What is GPS?
GPS stands for Global Positioning System, which uses 24 satellites constantly orbiting the earth to determine the position, speed
and direction of an object anywhere on in the world. It is used extensively in tracking moving objects, such as vehicles and assets.
GPS can be accurate to approximately 10 meters or less, and so can be used to provide geofencing capabilities.
A geofence is a geographical region that you define and use to trigger an event when a vehicle enters that region. By using
IQgistics fleet management technology it is possible to send alerts via email or cellphone text messages or even shutdown
or disable assets when they travel inside or outside these pre-set geographical boundaries.
